Privacy Policy
Motor Racing Australia Pty Ltd is committed to providing quality services to you, and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your personal information collected through IPRA Bathurst Cup (iprabathurstcup.com.au), including through the Expression of Interest form.
We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your personal information.

What personal information do we collect, and why?
Personal information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Through the Expression of Interest form, we collect information including your name, address, date of birth, phone number, email address, Motorsport Australia licence number and expiry, IPRA membership details, emergency contact details, vehicle details, and payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details ourselves).
We collect this information for the primary purpose of administering entries and expressions of interest for the IPRA Bathurst Cup, verifying licence and membership eligibility, processing payments, communicating with entrants about the event, and meeting our obligations to Motorsport Australia. We may also use it for secondary purposes closely related to that primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use.
When we collect personal information we will, where appropriate and possible, explain why we are collecting it and how we plan to use it.
Sensitive information
Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information such as health information. Where an Expression of Interest requires health-related information (for example, as part of licence eligibility), we will only use it for the primary purpose for which it was obtained, a directly related secondary purpose, with your consent, or where required or authorised by law.
Third parties
Where reasonable and practicable, we collect your personal information only from you directly. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Entry, licence and event data may be shared with the organisations listed below for administration and compliance purposes. We don't guarantee the privacy practices of third-party websites we link to.
Disclosure of personal information
Your personal information may be disclosed to the following organisations, and in the following circumstances:
- Improved Production Racing Association of Australia Incorporated (IPRA), as promotor of the category;
- Motor Racing Australia Pty Ltd (MRA), which administers this Expression of Interest process on IPRA's behalf;
- The Confederation of Australian Motorsport, trading as Motorsport Australia, for licence verification and event sanctioning purposes;
- Australian Racing Group and ARG Events Pty Ltd, as event promoter;
- RaceReady, our event management and entry system provider;
- Stripe, for payment processing;
- Where you consent to the use or disclosure; and
- Where required or authorised by law.
Security of your personal information
Your personal information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. When it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it. However, we may retain entry records for a minimum of 7 years for record-keeping purposes.
Access to your personal information
You may access the personal information we hold about you and request that it be updated or corrected, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your personal information, please contact us in writing using the details below. We will not charge a fee for an access request, but may charge a reasonable administrative fee for providing a copy of your information. We may require identification from you before releasing it.
Maintaining the quality of your personal information
It's important to us that your personal information is accurate and up to date. If you find that information we hold about you is incorrect, please let us know as soon as practicable so we can update our records.
